Michael Young is a Drafting + Development Director with a deep-rooted passion for timber construction. He is instrumental in documenting and shaping the structural design/development of our projects.

Firmitas’s collaborative approach involves working closely with diverse teams, which is something Michael excels at. He routinely connects with whole project teams, from planning to production (ie. owners, craftspeople, architects, engineers, and other building professionals), to determine the most efficient and aesthetically pleasing timber solutions for every context.

Michael’s past roles as a project manager, arborist, carpenter, and timber framer provide a broad perspective that allows him to understand the intricacies of each project. He is dedicated to staying at the forefront of timber construction technologies. Inspired by his family’s legacy in the building industry, he is an active member of the Timber Framers Guild, and committed to preserving traditional craftsmanship while embracing innovative design solutions. Michael’s ability to combine technical expertise with creative vision makes him a valuable asset to your project team.
